This is a very yummy, hearty garlic bread which makes a delicious appetizer when made with a narrow baguette and cut into small pieces AND also works as an accompaniment to fill out a soup or salad meal. The possibilities are endless. I have made it with green Sicilian olives and mozzarella which is also very good. I plan to try sun-dried tomatoes. The darker pieces in the picture were sprinkled with smoked paprika. I did not find you could taste much of the smoked paprika so will maybe stir it right into the mixture next time, using a bit more. Of course, that assumes you love smoked paprika which I do.
