l large onion, sliced about ¼ inch thick – thicker is fine, too
oil or soft butter
freshly ground pepper – optional
Tear a sheet of foil large enough to hold the slices in a single, slightly overlapping layer on one half of the foil leaving a couple of inches around the edges for sealing the foil. Spread with butter (as much or as little as you like) or drizzle with oil and sprinkle with seasoning salt and pepper. Fold foil in half and seal the three open edges being sure there are no places that could leak. Place on barbecue over medium hot heat for about 15 – 20 minutes or until done to your liking.
