When dinner is a simple (or not so simple??) soup and sandwich, offer make-your-own sundaes for dessert! Once you have tried these quick and easy homemade sauces you won’t go back to the purchased variety. The addition of the Scotch or brandy do not add a strong taste but greatly enhance the flavours of the respective sauces. Other liqueurs such as coffee or orange would also be delicious additions to the Hot Fudge Sauce.
Serve the sundaes with fruit and sprinkle with healthy toasted nuts – whipped cream optional!!!
These sauces are absolutely good enough for a dinner party. For a trendy touch, try sprinkling the sundaes with a large flaked sea salt – it really brings out the chocolate and/or caramel flavours. I love smoked sea salt – it’s definitely a conversation starter.
Another dessert idea: Using tiny frozen cream puffs, make a little mound of about 5. Pour over the Hot Fudge Sauce then drizzle with the Caramel Sauce. Top with whipped cream. Soooooooo delicious!!
